Indraja is an Indian Actress born in Vijayawada, India on 17 October 1977 known for her works mostly in Telugu Cinema, Malayalam Cinema, and Television in addition to a little bit of work for Tamil and Kannada films.
Early life and first career choice:
Despite being born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu she was born into a Telugu-speaking Carnatic musical family. She is the eldest of three sisters, the other two being Bharati and Sobha. She is a trained classical singer and dancer having won prizes in singing and drama competitions. She toured with Murthy’s troupe and performed abroad.
During her school days, learned the Kuchipudi dance form from Madhavabetti Murthy. While she was training to become a journalist she was graced with the opportunity to host television programs such as Thakka Thimi Tha.
Started her career in 1993:
Indraja made her debut as a child star in the Rajinikanth movie Uzhaippali.
Indraja’s first professional film was Jantar Mantar (where she adopted her character’s name ‘Indraja’ as her screen name), but Ysvi Krishna Reddy Ali’s Yamalila was released earlier and became a big success. Yes, after growing up, S. V. Krishna Reddy’s Yamaleela made her an instant star. The film ran for over a year. After Yamali, Indraja acted as a heroine in more than 30 films in two years.

Indraja married actor Mohammad Apsar on 7 September 2005. In the same year, Indraja also anchored the classical dance-based game show Takadimitha on the Tamil channel Jaya TV in 2005. The couple have a daughter.
