​​Shalin Bhanot was born on 15 November 1982 in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Since childhood, fond of acting and films, ​​Shalin chose this as his career. Shalin Bhanot comes from a middle-class family. ​​Shalin’s father Brij Mohan Bhanot is a businessman and his mother Sunita Bhanot is a housewife.

He acted as Karan in Zee TV in Saat Phere: Saloni ka Safar and Kulvaddhu in Sony TV where he played Agni. ​​Shalin Bhanot was trained by the famous Hollywood acting coach Michelle Danner.

​​Shalin Bhanot played an episodic role in the Sony channel Kaajjal Show and has starred in Star Plus’ Grihasti movie from December 2008.   He has played characters in the films Pyare Mohan (2006), Devdoot (2007) and Luv Ke Funde (2016) (Shalin Bhanot Movies).

Shalin married actress Dalljiet Kaur in 2009 and divorced six years later. Kaur, who accused Shalin of domestic violence was eager to file for divorce. Before their divorce, both participated in the fourth season of Nach Baliye and emerged as winners.

Shalin has been extensively trained by famous Bollywood choreographers like Saroj Khan, Habiba Rehman, and Geeta Kapoor.

He participated in the reality show Nach Baliye 4 in 2009 and won the series with his ex-wife and ex-partner Daljeet Kaur. They were given a trophy and a check for Rs. 50 lakhs by Shahrukh Khan. 

5. He was recently evicted from Bigg Boss:

Shalin Bhanot came out of Bigg Boss house and reached the stage of Grand Finale. His time in Bigg Boss 16 ended after a journey of four months. This is certainly bad news for his fans.

Full of ups and downs, Shalin Bhanot’s Bigg Boss 16 journey has ended up with him finishing fifth and reaching top-5 is a big milestone in itself. 

Before announcing the verdict of the public vote, Bigg Boss had asked the housemates to tell their opinion on who would be in the fifth position in the show for them. If their guess and decision matches with the public’s decision, then Rs 10 lakh will be added to the prize money. It is interesting that the members of the house also considered Shalin at the 5th position and this was the decision of the public as well. With the eviction of Shalin, the prize money of Bigg Boss-16  became Rs 31 lakh 80 thousand.

Shalin said that he was not expecting that he would be at number 5. Shalin said that he was cherishing the dream of winning the trophy. Later, while having fun, Salman gave Shalin a trophy with a buzzer.

6. Controversies:

In 2009, Shalin married his co-star in ‘Kulvadhu’, Dalljiet Kaur. Both have a son Jayden. 

In 2015, due to bitterness in the relationship, Daljeet accused Shalin of domestic violence and got divorced. Shalin Bhanot was accused of an extramarital affair and his ex-wife Dalljiet accused Shalin of assault and extra-marital affair and then the matter reached the police. After some time he handled himself and made a comeback with the TV serial Naagin.

The closeness between him and TV actress Tina Dutta has been seen in the popular reality show Bigg Boss 16. There is currently a question mark on the chemistry of both of them in the show because Tina and Shalin called each other friends but both have shared many cozy moments together. Both were seen dancing and holding hands, during the recent New Year event. But everything changed because the news of his relationship with Tina Dutta was also in the headlines!
