Newly elected Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav is not one to rest on his laurels. Just a few days after being sworn in as the chief minister of the state, Mohan Yadav made major announcements regarding the highly publicized Ladli Behna Yojana of the MP Government. Along with updates on the Ladli Behna Yojana, the Chief Minister also made key announcements about the upcoming Youth Day and Makar Sankranti celebrations.
The Ladli Behna Yojana is for all the residents of Madhya Pradesh. However, all applicants need to be married. They can be widowed, divorced, or abandoned, However, unmarried women are not eligible for this scheme. Women need to be between the ages of 23 and 60 to avail the benefits of the Ladli Behna Yojana. Women whose self-declared income is above 2.5 lakhs per year are also not eligible for this scheme. As per the Ladli Behna Yojana, all eligible women will receive 1000 rupees per month.
Since it’s a newly launched scheme, there were some doubts regarding its launch. However, CM Mohan Yadav put all the doubts to rest as soon as he returned from Dehradun. He held a meeting with important officers and made key announcements in the press conference following it. Aside from the Ladli Behna Yojana, Youth Day and Makar Sankranti celebrations were also on the agenda of the meeting. The state will celebrate Youth Day on 12th January. It will also hold women’s empowerment programs between 10th and 15th January.
The Madhya Pradesh government is determined in its vision of working towards women’s empowerment and upliftment as that’s the key to the state’s development from the ground level. Empowered women will lead to improvement in the living conditions of children as well, securing the state’s future in the process.
The first installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana will arrive in the approved applicants’ account by 10th January. Aside from that, the designated officers have also been instructed to create a detailed list of all the programs that will be held as a part of the Youth Day celebrations on 12th January.
