The Secret and Scandals Of Mary Beougher’s Unethical Marriage To Randy Travis

This is the timeline of the marriage between the then Mary Beougher (now Mary Davis) and country legend Randy Travis. Their relationship started out as a cheating scandal between Randy Travis and his former dentist’s wife!

The Secrets Of Mary Beougher’s Marriage To Randy Travis

Who Is Mary Davis AKA Mary Beougher?

Mary Davis or Mary Beougher was previously married to a Dallas cosmetic dentist, Dr. Ritchie Beougher. The then Mary Beougher used to work at the Willow Bend Dental office as her ex-husband’s office manager. She is also the actress known for her film Today (1952).  She had two children from her first marriage: daughter Cavenaugh and son Raleigh Beougher.

  • In 2011, Davis and Travis were the subject of many cheating rumours. Read below.
  • They were engaged two years before his hospitalization in 2013, due to his stroke. After his stroke Mary stood by the singer and helped him heal. When he was struggling to speak and unable to sing and walk, Davis was there for him every step of the way. Mary even kept Travis’ fans updated on his healing process and recovery.
  • In March 2015, Davis got quietly married to the “Too Gone Too Long” singer.

Randy Travis Caught In Bed With Mary Beougher Following Divorce:

Once he was divorced in 2011, the country legend Randy Travis was telling pals that he’ll wed his married mistress as soon as possible! Travis’ ex-wife put a spy camera on Travis’ tour bus and caught him cheating. Travis’ 19-year marriage to his manager Libby Hatcher came down in flames as Libby caught the “Forever & Ever, Amen” singer cheating with his dentist’s wife, mother of two Mary Beougher.

Randy’s Bride Stood By Him After Engagement:

In 2013, the country star was admitted to a Texas hospital for an upper respiratory infection. Mere days later, he suffered a massive stroke. He was given a 1% chance of survival, but Travis’ bride to be was dutifully by his side the entire time.

“Even in his state, his semi-coma state, he squeezed my hand,” Davis told Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY about her husband’s time on life support. “And he laid there, and I just I saw this tear just fall. And it was, you know, one, two at a time. And I just went back to the doctors, and I said, ‘We’re fighting this.”’

Travis endured brain surgery and six months in the hospital after coming out of his coma. The near-fatal stroke had damaged his system. With a ton of help from Davis and physical therapy, he learned to speak and walk again. It was such a trying time that Travis wrote a new memoir about his experience, “Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life.”

Randy Travis Went To Jail Beating Up Mary Beougher’s Ex:

A few days before Christmas in 2012, Randy Travis was in Collin County court pleading not guilty to assault following the Aug. 23 fight in the Prestonwood Baptist Church parking lot.

Randy Travis was issued with a Class C assault after a physical confrontation with his girlfriend’s estranged husband in the parking lot of a Texas church. Mary’s ex husband and dentist Dr. Ritchie Beougher, on the hand, said that the country superstar did much worse than inflict an “unwanted touch” upon him. Gregory Shamoun, who was the lawyer who represented Dr. Beougher in the case against Travis then said in Taste of Country that his client was kicked in the stomach over custody of Ritchie and Mary Beougher’s then 16 year old son, who was returning from camp that day.

The lawyer says Dr. Beougher had “sole right to take possession of the child,” but when he tried to do so, Travis intervened and “threatened to kill him.”

An officer at the scene, Officer Tilley told Taste of Country that Travis supposedly kicked Richard Beougher, but said he was advised that the kick did not cause Beougher pain or injury, therefore it failed in the Class C assault category. The officer also confirmed that Travis was handcuffed following the incident, adding that it was only for safety reasons “due to his agitated state.”

This is the story for those who’ve forgotten. The country singer Travis and his fiancée, Mary Beougher, sued Beougher’s estranged husband, Ritchie Dean Beougher, D.D.S., and her own brother, William Barnes Davis. Beougher’s daughter, Cavanaugh, also was a plaintiff.

Travis’ attorney stated that Randy Travis stood up to the brother bullies in an effort to protect the two girls as a result of his heroic effort to save Mary and daughter Cavanaugh from an unwarranted assault by Mary’s estranged husband and his employee who happens to be her brother.

Mary and Randy were in one car, says the suit; Cavanaugh and friends, in another. And it was “a happy reunion,” says the suit, if only for a moment. “As Mary and Randy were pulling out the school parking lot, Mary noticed Ritchie following them in her rearview mirror,” says the suit. “Mary then saw Ritchie stop on the driveway where Cavanaugh and the other kids were parked. As a result, Mary and Randy turned their car around and drove to where all of them were stopped.”

The suit says Ritchie pulled his car behind Mary’s, while Davis, who is Mary’s brother, parked behind Ritchie. Randy and Mary got out of their respective vehicles, says the suit, and began arguing about custody. Following this, Ritchie grabbed Mary and “threw her up against his truck multiple times,” prompting Cavanaugh to get involved. She too was injured, allegedly, after Mary’s brother Davis struck and pushed her.

Next, Randy, Ritchie and Davis “exchanged some choice words,” after which the brother Davis “grabbed Randy and wrestled him to the ground” while Ritchie the ex-husband called a friend who’s a Plano police officer. The suit alleges Ritchie had pre-arranged to have this officer in the parking lot “because [he] knew in advance he was going to start a fight with Mary, Randy and/or Cavanaugh that evening.”

Allegations became official with a nine-page lawsuit filed in Collin County. The suit alleges that Ritchie “orchestrated” a “scheme” with his brother Davis “and others,” the object of which was to “physically injure” singer Randy Travis and the women; help Ritchie “gain leverage over Mary in their pending divorce case”; and “to attempt to harass, embarrass and humiliate Travis.”

“Ritchie knew that Mary, being the devoted mother that she was, would go with Cavanaugh to pick up [her son] because she had not seen her son since he left for summer camp.”

With all these rumors circulating, it’s no wonder why the couple have stayed out of the spotlight. Well, maybe not. I mean there are photos of a naked Travis who went out to buy cigarettes and got arrested. The country legend had problems with alcohol abuse and was arrested in 2012 for driving while intoxicated. Since then he has recovered and is doing well.
