Loris Sven Karius, born 22 June 1993, is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Head Association club Newcastle United. Karius has played for Germany at the youth level. Born in Biberach, Karius started his profession with Stuttgart before moving to Manchester City in 2009. Following two years in Manchester City’s childhood framework, he returned to Germany with Mainz 05. 

He secured himself as the best option goalkeeper for the Bundesliga side before moving to Liverpool in 2016 for a fee of £4.75 million. After this, Karius proceeded to play in the 2018 UEFA Champions Association last with the club, a 3-1 loss to Genuine Madrid. After advanced spells at Beşiktaş and Association Berlin, he left Liverpool in 2022 and joined Newcastle United.

Personal Life

Loris was born in Biberach, Baden-Württemberg to Christine and Harald Karius. Harald planned for his child to turn into a motocross rider, yet Loris’ granddad, Karl, urged him to zero in on football. Karius went to Pestalozzi-Gymnasium Biberach until he transitioned to Britain in 2009 where he was then personally guided.

Football Career 

Karius played for neighborhood group SG Mettenberg and SSV Ulm in 1846 preceding joining VFB Stuttgart, where he rose through the young positions and showed up for the German under-16 public group against Macedonia in September 2008.

Karius made his Liverpool debut in a 3-0 Association Cup triumph over Derby District on 20 September 2016. He played his most memorable premier league match against Frame City, which finished in a 5-1 triumph for the Reds, on 24 September. Karius recorded his most memorable Premier League clean sheet on 17 October, in a 0-0 draw with rivals Manchester United. 

On 24 October 2016, Jürgen Klopp affirmed that Karius was Liverpool’s best option goalkeeper, in front of Simon Mignolet. After two average performances toward the beginning of December, which included spilling Lewis Cook’s manageable shot into the path of Nathan Aké to tap home into an unfilled net to give Bournemouth a 4-3 win, Karius was dropped from the beginning eleven.
